An optometrist is a health care professional who has earned a degree of Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) after completing a course of study at an approved college of optometry. Optometrists begin their training with completion of a Bachelor’s degree program at an undergraduate college followed by four years at an accredited college of optometry.
Ron Redder was born and raised in Fort Worth, TX and graduated Cum Laude from University of Texas at Arlington with a BS in Biology. He received his doctorate of optometry from the University of Houston, College of Optometry. He graduated Magna Cum Laude and was a member of Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society. He studied ocular therapeutics to be able to diagnose and treat eye diseases and injuries. He also studied to become certified as an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist to be able to diagnose and treat Glaucoma.
Dr. Redder has been in private practice at First Eye Care/Corsicana Optical in Corsicana since 2005. He is a member of both the American Optometric Association and the Texas Optometric Association. He currently serves on the board of directors of Corsicana Noon Lions Club.
Dr. Redder, his wife Susan, and her mother currently reside in Corsicana. He enjoys cooking – especially outdoor grilling, traveling, and spending time with his family.
